TransCanada files reports with regulators (AP)

JUNEAU, Alaska ? TransCanada Corp. has filed environmental reports with federal regulators for its proposed Alaska natural gas pipeline project.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission recently canceled a scoping meeting for Jan. 18 and said it would cancel future meetings if TransCanada didn't file the reports by this coming Tuesday.

The office of federal coordinator for Alaska natural gas pipeline projects expects the canceled meeting to be rescheduled.

The office says the commission and other government agencies with jurisdiction will review the draft reports and look for any gaps in information that TransCanada would need to fill before making application to the commission for a certificate to build and operate the pipeline.

TransCanada has said it's on track to make application in October.
