Yesterday we got to preview portions of the official poster artwork for the new musical The Light Princess, with music and lyrics by Tori Amos, and today we get to see the poster art IN FULL. The National Theater has unveiled the poster artwork for The Light Princess as well as new information about the show ? including when tickets will go on sale and when the show will open this fall. Once, in opposing kingdoms lived a princess and a prince who had lost their mothers. Althea, unable to cry, became light with grief and floated, and so was locked away. Digby became so heavy-hearted that he could never smile, and so was trained as a warrior.
One day, he declares war. Althea is forced out of hiding and down to ground but, in defiance of her father, she escapes, only to encounter the solemn prince on contested land. Beside a lake the warring heirs begin a passionate and illicit affair. But for Althea to find real love, she must first confront the world?s darkness and face her own deepest fears.
The Light Princess brings together iconic singersongwriter Tori Amos with playwright Samuel Adamson and director Marianne Elliott (Curious Incident) in this spectacular coming-of-age story. A dark fairytale about grief, rebellion and the power of love.

The Light Princess will open at Lyttelton Theater on September 25 and tickets will go on sale to the general public starting July 1. Additionally, Tori and her collaborator Samuel Adamson will take part in an in person discussion about the show on October 18 (again, tickets for this event will go on sale July 1). This is all so very exciting for me so I know it?s exciting news for other Tori fans as well. I would LOVE to get over to London at some point this year to see this show. A musical with music and lyrics by Tori Amos is a dream come true. I would really like to be able to see that dream realized in person.
